[00:10.00]Now listen to these sentences. They all have adjectives.
[00:11.00]Say the adjectives.You hear,"She's lucky." And you say,"Lucky."

[00:13.00]The music was beautiful. Beautiful.
[00:14.00]The news was awful.  Awful.
[00:15.00]She was perfect in the part.  Perfect.
[00:16.00]The reviews were wonderful.  Wonderful.
[00:17.00]He's a brilliant new star.  Brilliant.
[00:18.00]/They had a good director.  Good.
[00:19.00]The cast was strong.  Strong.
[00:20.00]He was worried about his father. Worried.
[00:21.00]She was happy about the reviews.  Happy.
[00:22.00]The show was terrible.  Terrible.
[00:23.00]She was nervous and tense.  Nervous and tense.
[00:24.00]She's a sensitive actress.  Sensitive.
[00:25.00]Now you're going to here two words.
[00:26.00]Are they the same or different?
[00:27.00]You hear,"Brilliant.Brilliant." And you say,"The same."
[00:28.00]You hear,"Wonderful.  Wonderfully." And you say,"Different."
[00:29.00]Ready? Brilliant. Brilliant. The same."
[00:30.00]Wonderful.Wonderfully.  Different.
[00:31.00]Sensitively.Sensitive.  Different.
[00:32.00]Quickly.Quickly.  The same.
[00:33.00]Smoothly.Smoothly.  The same.
[00:34.00]Terrible.Terribly.  Different.
[00:35.00]Happily.Happily. The same.
[00:36.00]Perfectly.Perfectly.  The same.

[-1:-2.00]Now change these nouns to verbs.
[-1:-3.00]You hear.... He's an actor. And you say... He acts.
[-1:-4.00]You hear... She's a driver.  And you say... She drives. Ready?

[-1:-6.00]She's a driver. She drives.
[-1:-7.00]She's a director.  She directs.
[-1:-8.00]They're singers. They sing.
[-1:-9.00]He's a cook.  He cooks.
[-1:10.00]She's a speaker.  She speaks.
[-1:11.00]They're writers.She writes.
[-1:12.00]She's a manager.  She manages.
[-1:13.00]He's a worker.  He works.
[-1:14.00]Let's make some sentences using adverbs.
[-1:15.00]Add the-ly ending to the adjective to form the adverb.
[-1:16.00]For example,quick becomes quickly.
[-1:17.00]Then put the adverb at the end of the sentence.
[-1:18.00]You hear... She's a beautiful actress.
[-1:19.00]And you say... She acts beautifully.
[-1:20.00]You hear... He's a sensitive director.
[-1:21.00]And you say... He directs sensitively.
[-1:22.00]Let's try it.She's a beautiful actress. She acts beautifully.
[-1:23.00]He's a sensitive director.  He directs sensitively.
[-1:24.00]She's a superb cook.  She cooks superbly.
