VOA常速英语:Critics Praise Pat Green's 'What I'm For'

In 2003, Texas singer-songwriter Pat Green recorded his Top 5 breakthrough hit, "Wave On Wave." Two record deals and three albums later, Green feels his latest release, What I'm For, shows how much he has grown, both musically and personally.
Pat Green's goal for his new album, What I'm For, is to surpass the success he had with his 2003 release, Wave On Wave. The Number 2 debut of What I'm For on Billboard's Country Albums chart proves he's well on his way to achieving that goal. Pat is also receiving praise from music critics. A review in The Washington Post described the collection as "rock-tinged Country music that evokes heartland struggle while deftly tugging at the most hardened of heartstrings."
The debut single from What I'm For was the Top 20 ballad, "Let Me," which also made a showing on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
For the first time in his career, Pat Green worked with Dan Huff, who has produced albums for such Country superstars as Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts and Faith Hill. Pat wrote or co-wrote eight of the 10 tracks on What I'm For. They include "Footsteps Of Our Fathers," which Pat calls "the best song I've ever been a part of writing."
Pat is currently headlining the multi-artist Jagermeister Country Tour, which runs through the end of Apri
