(BEIJING, August 4) -- The official promotional song for Beijing's Olympic countdown was launched in Beijing on August 4th, five days before the city celebrates its one-year-countdown to the 29th Olympiad.

The song, name with We Are Ready, was co-created by Peter Kam and Keith Chan. After the enormous success of Hong Kong-because you are here, the theme song for Hong Kong SAR's ten-year-anniversary, the two renowned Hong Kong musicians accepted BOCOG's invitation to create a song to mark Beijing's one-year-countdown to Olympics. The song, boasting more than 130 singers, has become the most participated Chinese song during the last two decades and is expected to be a national hit while the Olympics is about to come to the city.

According to Mr. Kan Ke, Deputy Director of BOCOG Culture and Ceremonies Department, BOCOG would like to use the song to show the city's full preparation and the country's great anticipation for next year's Olympics. He also believes that "We Are Ready" is something that every Beijing citizen and Chinese people wish to say on the day of August 8th.

During the city's celebration for Olympic countdown, We Are Ready will be broadcasted across the country through major television networks and will be performed by more than 130 singers in the One-year-to-go celebration for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, which is due to take place at Tian'anmen Square on August 8th 2007. The trail MP3 is offered through BOCOG's Official Website (www.beijing2008.cn) and Chine Mobile's Wireless Music Chart.
