体坛英语新闻：Atletico Madrid confirms Salvio signing

MADRID, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid closed the deal to sign young Argentinean midfielder Antonio Salvio from Club Atletico Lanus this Thursday.

The 19-year-old has signed a deal for five and a half years and was presented to the pres at the Vicente Calderon in the early afternoon.

Salvio arrived in Madrid on Monday and becomes Atletico's second signing of the winter transfer window after Thiago Cardoso, who arrived from Italian giants Juventus.

"I know there is a lot of pressure in this club, but I like pressure and you can learn from it," said Salvio, who was delighted to have the chance to play in the same team as his teammate Kun Aguero.

"When I was in Argentina, I used to watch Atletico's matches because of Kun. he's a great player, who makes the difference every time he plays and I am looking forward to playing alongside him," said Salvio.

Atletico is now thought to be interested in signing Brazilian defender Rafinho from German side Schalke 04.
