体坛英语新闻:Palmeiras makes offer to Roma for Adriano
RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Palmeiras announced on Friday its intent to bring striker Adriano back to Brazilian soccer by presenting its proposal to the Italian team Roma on Thursday.
Coached by Luis Felipe Scolari, the team wants Adriano for the entire 2011 season, saying hat Adriano's off-field activities do not bother him and openly declaring his hopes of having the striker next year.
Palmeiras offered to pay Adriano roughly 175,000 US dollars per-month and would be a pay cut from his nearly 3 million Euros he earns annually at Roma. Adriano's contract with Roma extends through 2012. Palmeiras is interested in a one-year loan and waits to receive the news regarding the official proposal.
Palmeiras' rival Corinthians is also actively looking to attract Adriano. Ronaldo has intensified his contacts and intent on bringing his long-time friend back to Brazil for 2011. However, Adriano remains that he is satisfied at Roma and has no intention of returning to Brazil in the near future.
