RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's polemic striker Adriano left for Italy on Wednesday to return to his Italian team Roma FC.

Adriano had been in Brazil ever since the operation on his right shoulder. He suffered an injury during a match against Lazio on January 19, necessitating surgery.
