国际英语新闻:4.7-magnitude aftershock jolts Haiti
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- A 4.7-magnitude aftershock rocked Haiti on Sunday, but caused no serious damage.
When the quake occurred at 16:51 p.m. (2151 GMT), some scared residents ran into the streets and yelled for help. However, the majority remained calm, apparently having got used to frequent aftershocks.
The latest aftershock toppled some buildings which had already been severely damaged.
It also partly exposed some bodies hidden under the rubble of a residence in northern Port-au-Prince. Neighbors dug out the bodies and buried them.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of the quake lies30 km west of Port-au-Prince, with a shallow depth of 4.1 km.
Over 100 aftershocks have hit Haiti after the devastating quake on Jan. 12 , which has killed more than 110,000 and left 3 million homeless.
