国际英语新闻:Czech government quits
PRAGUE, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Czech Prime Minister Jan Fischer on Friday handed his government's resignation to President Vaclav Klaus.
The government will remain in control until a new one is approved by the parliament, but Fischer told the press Friday his administration would simply act in a caretaker role and would not introduce new programs.
Klaus said Fischer's government was successful and popular with the public.
Fischer is now expected to become a vice-president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Meanwhile, talks between three center-right parties about forming a new coalition government continued. A major sticking point is who will become the next finance minister.
