国际英语新闻:Intel reports record quarterly revenue
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Intel Corp. on Tuesday reported record revenue in its most recent quarter, citing robust corporate demand for computing products.
In the company's fiscal third quarter, Intel posted revenue of 11. 1 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 18 percent year-on-year and also representing the first time that quarterly revenue surpassed 11-billion-dollar mark for the world's largest computer chipmaker.
Intel's net income for the quarter was 2.96 billion dollars or 52 cents per share, compared with 1.86 billion dollars or 33 cents per share a year earlier.
Both revenue and earnings per share beat analysts' estimates.
"Intel's third-quarter results set all-time records for revenue and operating income," Paul Otellini, Intel's chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"These results were driven by solid demand from corporate customers, sales of our leadership products and continued growth in emerging markets," he noted.
Looking forward, Otellini said the company continues to see " healthy worldwide demand for computing products of all types."
