国际英语新闻:GM to recall Chevy Impalas on seat belt anchor concerns
CHICAGO, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- General Motors Co. (GM) will recall 322,409 Chevrolet Impalas from the 2009 and 2010 model years to inspect the potential problem in the front seat belt webbing.
The company said on Friday that the front seat belt webbing of "a small number" of vehicles may not have be properly secured, which may fail to meet the anchor strength requirements of the U.S. and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.
The Auto giant added that no injuries or deaths has been related to this condition so far and any repairs related to this condition will be done free of charge.
The company is mulling over kicking of IPO in the future, which would help shake off the 61-percent control of U.S. government.
