国际英语新闻:EU Strategy for Danube Region adopted at Danube Summit in Bucharest
BUCHAREST, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- The declaration on the EU Strategy for the Danube Region was adopted on Monday in Bucharest, on the sidelines of the Danube Summit.
The signatory states reiterate in the document their firm commitment to implementing the European Strategy for the Danube Region, as well as the importance of this strategy for navigation and energy inter-connectivity, environment protection, water resources preservation and risk management, as well as socioeconomic development.
Through this document signed by Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, all EU member states are invited to support the Danube Strategy implementation.

The document also includes an invitation to the international financial institutions to contribute to the implementation of the projects in the Action Plan by using their specific instruments and by using the technical assistance.
The signatory states also support the strengthening of the cooperation with the non-EU member states in the region for a more coherent implementation of the European principles and values.
Delegations from 14 Danube River states -- Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Montenegro, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Hungary along with officials of the riverside lands in Austria and Germany and European institutions officials gathered in the Romanian capital on Monday for the Danube Summit.
