The Brazil Teacher’s Day is another significant among countries of the world because it is fitted with some sort of a historical background. Every 15th of October, the time Brazil celebrates the national Brazil Teacher’s Day, is also the time Emperor Pedro I signed into law creating the schools for the lower classes. It was also in October 15, 1947 that the first teacher appreciation day was celebrated from among teachers on a small school in San Paulo. As a result of these very significant events in the history of education in the country, the Brazilian government officially declared October 15 as teacher appreciation day way back in 1963. The celebration has continued to take center stage from there onwards, and the system of education in the country also amazingly improved. Emperor Pedro I was so encouraged to institute reforms in education during his leadership. He even approved a decree which aimed to regulate elementary schools.

The Teacher’s Day is always remembered by teachers as the time when their efforts are being recognized by the government, the parents, as well as the students. During this day students flood the school with their commercial and self-made appreciation and love cards which the teachers happily and glad accepted.

Bigger schools who have enough funds would also offer special parties for teachers so that once in a while they can also mingle with one another and share each other’s experience – not to mention the various Brazilian cuisine that area also prepared. The party is also meant to give special citations and awards for teachers who have made outstanding and exemplary performance in the field of education. Private and government organizations joined themselves in recognizing the efforts made by these educators.

In schools all over the country, the teacher appreciation day is fun-filled with entertainments as students render various poem recitals, song rendition, dances and other forms of entertainment.
