North Carolina holds a high-stakes special election Tuesday to fill a vacant US House seat. A congressional district was left without a representative due to voter fraud allegations during the 2018 midterms.

Britain's Parliament has been suspended with members being sent home for five weeks amid the Brexit controversy. Before was dismissed, Parliament enacted a law, stopping Prime Minister Boris Johnson from taking the UK out of the European Union without a deal.

South Korea's military says North Korea has launched two projectiles toward the sea. The launches come hours after North Korea offered to resume nuclear diplomacy with the United States.

And the last four crew members were rescued from a capsized ship off the Georgia coast. The ship was carrying cars when it suddenly turned on its side after leaving a port early Sunday.
