President Donald Trump is heading to south Dakota for a July fourth fireworks display at Mount. Rushmore. Meanwhile, the U.S. is heading into the weekend with many parades and fireworks shows canceled, as well as closed beaches and bars, all because of the coronavirus pandemic.

A muted fourth of July is set to take place in Chicago, where the city has canceled its fireworks show and continues to urge social distancing. Mayor Lori Lightfoot is warning bars and restaurants, now under orders to restrict capacity, she'll take stronger action if large crowds are allowed to congregate there.
Search and rescue operations are continuing at a jade mine in northern Myanmar, where a landslide has killed more than 160 people. Heavy rains have hampered recovery efforts.
