President Donald Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon was arrested Thursday on fraud charges. Prosecutors allege he and three others pocketed money from donations made to a group planning to build a southern border wall. The arrest makes Bannon the latest addition to a stunningly long line of Trump associates to have been prosecuted.

The number of U.S. workers applying for unemployment benefits climbed back to over a million last week after two steady weeks of declines. Figures released Thursday suggest employers are still slashing jobs even as businesses reopen and sectors like housing and manufacturing are on the mend.
Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny is currently at a Siberian hospital in a coma after falling ill from suspected poisoning. The 44-year-old fell ill on a flight back to Moscow Thursday. He is considered one of President Putin's fiercest critics.
Firefighters in northern California are currently battling more than two dozen major fires, largely the result of uNPRecedented lightning over the last few days. The fires dstroyed dozens of structures and are threatening at least 50,000 more.
