Large crowds of anti-government protesters have gathered again in Lebanon in spite of the resignation of prime minister Saad Hariri and an appeal by the president for unity. They want to sweep away the whole political establishment. They regard it as corrupt and blame it for high unemployment.

The air pollution in the Indian Capital Delhi has reached its worst level in three years, as toxic smog continued to grip the city. The authorities have asked people to stay indoors to minimize the health impact of the smog and closed more schools until Tuesday. A huge air purifier has been deployed in Taj Mahal.

President Donald Trump has called for the publication of the name of the whistleblower, whose complain prompted the ongoing impeachment investigation against him. Mr.Trump said the anonymous intelligence officials have given false information.

The Ethiopian prime minister has described the recent outbreak of ethnic and religious violence as an evil act and has sadden everyone. Abiy Ahmed said 86 people were killed in last month attacks in the Oromiya region, a slightly higher figure than the authorities have previously given. 

Venezuela has expelled EI Salvador's diplomats, a day after the central American country told all Venezuelan diplomatic personnel to leave. The Venezuelan foreign minister Jorge Arreaza said the move was reciprocal.

The German chancellor Angela Merkel has set a target for creating a million charging points for electric vehicles by the year 2030. At present, Germany has only about 20,000 such sockets.

The British racing driver Lewis Hamilton is hoping to secure his 6th Formula 1 world title in the U.S Grand Prix, which was taking place in Austin, Texas. He needs four points to guarantee the 2019 title, which will place him second in the all-time F1 standings.
