Chinese rock legend Cui Jian has released the alum "Frozen Light", marking his music comeback almost 10 years after his last release.

The 54-year-old rock star unveiled more details about the songs in his new album.

"I would say it's more powerful music, and more original even if there is a lot of melody, even if it is rock and roll, at least two or three songs I think I create the groove, which is very reggae but it's not like on the beach kind of reggae, not like dance floor music, it's really a heartbeat, with hurt feeling and suffering feeling."

Earlier this month, Cui Jian released a single named "Outside Girls" from the album, along with a micro film of the same name.

In terms of the inspiration and theme behind this song, the rock legend gave this explanation.

"Most of Chinese city people, their parents are from the countryside, you have to understand that, they don't feel you're a loser because of that, you feel good about that, it's your honor, take it back, take the confidence back in your heart and let them go and let them free. Forget about the city. You have the right to see, to imagine what the space is like. You have the first right to think that, and then you think who you love, let them come and save you."

Cui Jian rose to fame in China with his 1986 performance of 'Nothing to My Name', setting off a nationwide rock craze.
