MOSCOW, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Media representatives from both China and Russia on Monday successfully completed their 28-day driving tour from Beijing to Moscow.
The motorcade departed from Beijing, capital city of China, on June 5 and had driven some 12,000 km to Russian capital Moscow via Chinese cities including Harbin and Manzhouli and Russian cities like Irkutsk, Novosibirsk and Kazan.
Two correspondents from China's Xinhua news agency participated in the event.
Yuria Kozlova, a 23-year-old Muscovite from the voice of Russia, told Xinhua that she took part in the event in the hopes of seeing these Russian cities in her own eyes.
Supported by China National Tourism Administration and the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism, the driving tour project was carried out as part of the "Tourism Year of Russia" in China in 2012.
According to the reciprocal "Tourism Years" project, the " Tourism Year of China" is expected to be launched in Russia in 2013.
Tourism cooperation between China and Russia has been proceeding smoothly. According to China's National Tourism Administration, China and Russia exchanged more than 3.3 million tourists in 2011.
