国内英语新闻:Heavy snow to hit NE China
BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Meteorological authorities forecast on Sunday that heavy snow will hit northeast China and rainfall will continue in south China over the next three days.
Snowfall is expected to get heavier in Inner Mongolia and northeast regions from Sunday, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said in an online statement.
Eastern areas of Tibet Autonomous Region, the south of Qinghai Province and the north of Hebei Province will see rain and snow, and some southeastern parts of Inner Mongolia and the north of Liaoning Province will be hit by blizzards, according to the NMC.
Rain will continue in south China, mainly impacting Guangdong Province with rainfall of 133 mm at most.
The center forecasted continuous rainfall in most southwestern regions, south of the Yangtze River and south China, with thunderstorms or hail in some parts.
Experts warned of geological disasters like mud-rock flow or landslide in these areas.
Maizhokunggar, the Tibetan county in which a landslide buried 83 miners on Friday morning, will see cloudy weather with snow showers at night, the NMC added.
