国内英语新闻:Chinese president appoints seven new ambassadors
BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has appointed seven new ambassadors to foreign countries and international organizations, according to a statement issued by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) on Monday.
Xi made the appointments in line with decisions made by the Standing Committee of the NPC, China's top legislature.
Dong Xiaojun has been appointed ambassador to Jamaica, replacing Zheng Qingdian.
Chen Yuming has been appointed ambassador to Sweden, replacing Lan Lijun.
Wang Lutong has been appointed ambassador to New Zealand and the Cook Islands, as well as ambassador to the Island of Niue, replacing Xu Jianguo.
Bian Jianqiang has been appointed ambassador to Guinea, replacing Zhao Lixing.
Liu Biwei has been appointed ambassador to Denmark, replacing Li Ruiyu.
Li Ruiyu has been appointed ambassador to Italy and San Marino, replacing Ding Wei.
Yu Jianhua has been appointed representative and ambassador to the World Trade Organization, as well as deputy representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, replacing Yi Xiaozhun.
