国内英语新闻:Chinese Premier says reform measures to lift livelihoods
BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said the nation's reforms in boosting economic restructuring for a better growth mode will contribute to the improvement of people's livelihoods and concrete efforts are needed to realize the target.
The premier made the remarks during his three-day tour to Inner Mongolia and Liaoning Province in northern and northeastern China, which ended on Friday.
In Chifeng City of Inner Mongolia, the premier visited several families living in makeshift homes. Locals voiced their worries, including leaky roofs in rain season.
The premier said government would spare no efforts to build new homes for them. He said the government aims to renovate or build more than 4.7 million homes for people living in makeshift shelters this year.
Li said that the country would broaden the channels to fund these projects, which are important to boost social justice.
The premier also said the nation's financial services should be extended to better serve grassroots residents.
"Financial innovations must be oriented at serving the real economy and it should be designed to support people's attempts to find jobs or their ideas to start a business," the premier said.
