国内英语新闻:Chinese envoy presents credentials to Ghanaian president
ACCRA, April 25 (Xinhua) -- New Chinese Ambassador Sun Baohong presented her credentials to Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama at the Flagstaff House here on Friday.
The Ghanaian president held a cordial meeting with the new Chinese envoy in the presence of ministers of state and other high government officials.
The ambassador conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to the Ghanaian leader and said China attached importance to developing the friendly and cooperative ties with Ghana.
"I'm fully aware of the significance of my responsibilities and I am very determined to carry forward the benefits of the traditional friendship forged and nurtured by the older generations of the leaders," she said.
Sun congratulated President Mahama on his election as chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
President Mahama welcomed Sun as the Chinese new ambassador to Ghana, saying the bilateral relations between the two countries had never been closer.
He said there were so many projects in the country stood as symbols of Ghana-China relationship.
"It is my hope that, with your assumption of duty, we will be able to foster an even closer relationship with each other," said President Mahama.
