国内英语新闻:China marks NPC's 60th anniversary

BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- China held a conference on Friday morning to celebrate the 60th anniversary of establishing the National People's Congress (NPC).

Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the event, which is carried out by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Standing Committee of the NPC.

Chinese leaders Li Keqiang, Yu Zhengsheng, Liu Yunshan, Wang Qishan and Zhang Gaoli are present at the conference in the Great Hall of the People.

The conference is presided over by Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee.
