国内英语新闻:Symposium commemorates former vice premier's birth

BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- A symposium was held Monday to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late vice premier Chen Xilian.
Vice premier Zhang Gaoli attended the symposium.
Chen was born in 1915 and became a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1930. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission (CMC).
