国内英语新闻:Senior CPC official stresses strict discipline in grassroots units
NANNING, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Liu Yunshan stressed that efforts to strictly govern the Party should reach grassroots Party units around the country.
Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during a three-day inspection tour to south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which ended on Monday.
During his tour, Liu visited local villages, communities, enterprises, schools and grassroots government and Party institutions.
Party organizations at the grassroots level are the foundation for the Party's cause, and they should be emphasized in the country's commitment to strictly govern the Party, Liu said.
"Party members should be educated to value the Party, the public, their responsibilities and Party discipline in their hearts," he said.
He said building the Party should be in tune with the development of the times, the circumstances of different units and social diversity.
Liu also called for an improved system to evaluate cadres' work to keep them motivated.
He noted that Party construction at the grassroots level is a guarantee for the country's reform, development and stability.
