国内英语新闻:Polish President, Chinese FM agree to expand bilateral cooperation

WARSAW, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- President of Poland Andrzej Duda and visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreed to expand cooperations between the two countries Wednesday during their talks at the Presidential Palace here.

Duda said that this year marks the 66th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and China, the Polish side is willing to continue promoting bilateral relations to achieve new development.

The implementation of the Belt and Road initiative is of historical importance, Duda said, adding that together with the process of reindustrialization of Poland, it is also an important opportunity for the development of Poland, therefore the Polish side is willing to actively participate in this project.

Poland is also willing to work with China to expand cooperation in culture, education, tourism, etc. to enhance the friendship between the two nations, Duda said.

Wang said that friendship between China and Poland is deep and solid, while the potential for cooperation between the two countries is huge. China highly regards the important position of Poland and is willing to continue deepening its cooperation with Poland in various fields and adding new content to the bilateral strategic partnership.

The Chinese part also wishes to place the Polish-Chinese relations in the forefront of cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, as well as other countries in Europe, Wang said.

He said that China is willing to maintain high-level contacts with the Polish side.

Poland is regarded by China as an important partner in the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative, Wang said, adding that China hopes to create an important channel for the Chinese and the EU freight trains together with Poland and explore the possibility of building regional logistics centers.
