国内英语新闻:Chinese state councilor meets outgoing SCO secretary general

BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with outgoing Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Dmitry Mezentsev on Tuesday.

Yang said he appreciated Mezentsev's performance in promoting the development of the SCO and the implementation of the consensus reached by leaders of the SCO members, hoping Mezentsev will continue to contribute to the development of the organization.

Mezentsev thanked China for its support during his tenure from 2013 to 2015, saying he is convinced that the SCO members will have more productive cooperation in various areas in the future.
