国内英语新闻:United front departments urged to serve national development

BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng has urged members of the united front work departments to rally forces for the nation's cause of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

At a meeting held here on Friday for officials of the Communist Party of China's (CPC) united front work, Yu said the united front departments should constantly improve their work performance to help fix urgent and key issues, and pool wisdom for the realization of various reform goals.

Yu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, urged enhancing cooperation between the CPC and non-CPC organizations and individuals to support the building of a moderately prosperous society.

He urged unswervingly encourage, support and guide all social members to contribute their efforts to developing the country.

At the meeting, Sun Chunlan, chief of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, urged the united front work to be carried out in every field and with absolute loyalty to the CPC.
