国内英语新闻:China, Serbia vow to boost military cooperation
BEIJING, June 21 (Xinhua) -- China and Serbia have agreed to strengthen military cooperation as Fang Fenghui, a member of China's Central Military Commission (CMC), held talks with visiting chief of Serbian armed forces Ljubisa Dikovic Tuesday in Beijing.
Hailing the traditional friendship between China and Serbia, Fang, also chief of the Joint Staff Department under China's Central Military Commission (CMC), called for lifting military-to-military cooperation to match the growing ties of the two countries.
China and Serbia agreed to lift bilateral relations to comprehensive strategic partnership, during Chinese President Xi Jinping's recent state visit to the country.
"We are willing to implement the consensus reached by the two presidents, discuss expanding the mode and means of cooperation, and further improve top-level design," Fang said.
He called on expanding the scale of personal training and stepping up exchanges and cooperation in such fields as UN peacekeeping, joint drills on anti-terrorism, nuclear-biological-chemical protection and military medicine.
Dikovic echoed Fang on those areas of cooperation, pledging to work with the Chinese side.
