国内英语新闻:Legislators urged to unite around CPC Central Committee with Xi as "core"

BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Communist Party of China (CPC) organizations and CPC members at Chinese legislatures at all levels have been called on to "closely unite around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core."

A meeting was held on Friday by the leading Party group of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) on following calls made at the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.

Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the meeting and gave a speech.

Participants at Friday's meeting agreed that to study and implement the decisions at the CPC Central Committee session is an important political mission for the entire Party and state.

Party organizations and Party members at the NPC Standing Committee and legislative agencies at all levels should conform to the major arrangements of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core in thoughts and acts, according to the participants.

They also called for efforts to resolutely safeguard the authority of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.
