国内英语新闻:Top advisory body to convene in late August

BEIJING, July 27 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisory body will hold a meeting in late August.

Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), presided over the 62nd chairpersons' meeting on Thursday, at which the schedule and draft agenda of the 22nd meeting of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee was approved.

The meeting will focus on providing suggestions and solutions to problems in the work of targeted poverty relief, said a statement.

Yu asked the CPPCC National Committee to play its due role in uniting people from all walks of life and pooling the wisdom of them, in order to make contribution to the success of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the statement said.
