国内英语新闻:China, Singapore agree to boost legislature cooperation
BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- China and Singapore Tuesday agreed to improve legislature cooperation.
The agreement came out of a meeting between Meng Jianzhu, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and Singapore's Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon.
"Legislature cooperation is an important guarantee for stable development of China-Singapore ties in the long run," said Meng, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
He called on the two sides to establish mechanisms on recognition and enforcement of judgements in civil and commercial matters, legislature cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and China-ASEAN legislative exchanges.
Menon said Singapore stood ready to carry out close legislature cooperation with China based on friendship and mutual trust.
