国内英语新闻:China, Chile agree to enhance cooperation
BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan met with Chile's Foreign Minister Roberto Ampuero here Friday and the two sides expressed willingness to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
China supports people of Latin American countries to follow the development paths suited to their history, culture and national conditions, Wang said, stressing that China views Chile as an important partner in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.
Wang said China is ready to have closer exchanges at various levels with Chile, deepen political mutual trust, strengthen synergy of strategies, jointly construct the Belt and Road, so as to achieve win-win cooperation.
He called on both countries to have more people-to-people exchanges and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.
The two countries established their comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016.
Ampuero said Chile admires China's development achievements, expressing the hope to enhance Chile's cooperation with China, and make continuous achievements in the Belt and Road construction and people-to-people exchanges.
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi also met with Ampuero on Friday.
Ampuero is paying an official visit to China from Sept. 13 to 15.
