国内英语新闻:Wuhan's SARS treatment-model hospitals to receive patients soon
WUHAN, JAN. 31 (Xinhua) -- The two hospitals being built following Beijing's SARS treatment model will start to receive patients infected with novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) on Feb. 3 and Feb. 6 respectively in Wuhan, the center of a coronavirus outbreak in central China, according to a press conference on Friday.
Now, workers, trucks, and excavators are racing against the clock to meet the deadline at the construction sites.
The Huoshenshan (Fire God Mountain) Hospital covering an area of 34,000 square meters and providing 1,000 beds, will receive patients on Feb. 3 after it is delivered to put into use on the night of Feb. 2, said Zhou Xianwang, mayor of Wuhan at the press conference.
With an area of 75,000 square meters, the Leishenshan (Thunder God Mountain) Hospital which accommodates 1,500 beds is expected to receive patients on Feb. 6, according to Zhou.
Hubei Province reported 1,220 new confirmed cases infected with the novel coronavirus and 42 new deaths on Thursday. The provincial capital Wuhan reported 378 new infections and 30 new deaths, according to the Hubei Provincial Health Commission Friday.
