体坛英语新闻:Aubameyang is on his way to Arsenal
LONDON, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Borussia Dortmund and the Premier League club Arsenal have agreed to an immediate transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Wednesday.
Aubameyang has been under contract with BVB since 2013 and he scored 141 goals in 213 appearances.
BVB Sporting Director Michael Zorc said: "Apart from the unpleasant events that have taken place in the past few weeks, we like to think back on the four years that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang spent with BVB as one big success story. In this time he performed great deeds for Borussia Dortmund, he scored many important goals and he is part of the team that won the German Cup for Dortmund in 2017. We wish Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all the best for his future career with FC Arsenal."
On the day he made his debut for Dortmund, Aubameyang scored three goals away to FC Augsburg. He scored a total of 98 goals in 144 Bundesliga appearances. In the 2016/2017 season, Aubameyang was the top scorer in the Bundesliga with 31 goals. His biggest triumph with the team was winning the German Cup in 2017. He scored the winning goal from the spot in the 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
In 2016 Aubameyang was the first Bundesliga player ever to be voted African Footballer of the Year.
