国际英语新闻:U.S. Congress delegation calls on Afghan president
KABUL, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- A six-member U.S. Congress delegation headed by Rob Wittman called on President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani here in Arg or Presidential Palace on Sunday and exchanged views on matters pertaining mutual interests, a statement released by the Presidential Palace said.
In the meeting, matters relating to bilateral relations including equipping Afghan national security forces and continuation of U.S. assistance to Afghanistan were discussed, the statement further said.
The delegation assured Washington's long-term support to Afghanistan.
President Ghani, according to the statement, thanked the U.S. for its continued support to Afghanistan and stressed further enhancement of relations between Kabul and Washington.
