国际英语新闻:Half of flights to be cancelled in second day of French air controllers strike
PARIS, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Half of air traffics in France would would be cancelled across the country's airports on Thursday due to the air traffic controllers strike, France's Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) said on Wednesday.
French air traffic controllers stage a two-day strike starting from April 8 to express their dissatisfaction with current work conditions and the plan to prolong retirement age by two years to 59.
Organized by National Union of Air Traffic Controllers (SNCTA), the industrial action forced airlines to cancel 50 percent of flights during the second day of strike, the DGAC said, expecting traffic disruption coming in and out French airports.
Four flights out of ten are scheduled on Wednesday, according to the aviation authority, advising passengers to check if their flights would be cancelled in the strike before heading for airports.
