国际英语新闻:Bahrain suspends all flights between Iran
MANAMA, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Bahrain on Tuesday suspended all flights from and to Iran, according to the official BNA new agency, one day after Bahrain joined Saudi Arabia in cutting diplomatic ties with Iran.
Bahrain's Civil Aviation Affairs announced to direct the national and other carriers to suspend their flights to and from Iran.
The national carrier will take measures to ensure passengers who have previous bookings are not affect, the directorate explained.
Earlier on Sunday, Saudi Arabia cut off diplomatic relations with Iran after angry protesters stormed its embassy in Tehran against Saudi's execution of prominent Shiite cleric Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr.
On Monday, three Sunni-led countries -- Bahrain, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates -- joined Saudi Arabia in severing or downgrading diplomatic ties with Iran, adding to the fraught atmosphere in the region.
