She dwelt among the untrodden ways

Beside the springs of Dove,

A maid there was none to praise

她住在人迹罕至的乡野在那白鸽泉边，

她是一位少女，

无人赞美亦少有人爱怜。

A violet by a mossy stone

Half hidden from the eye!

Fair as a star, when only one

Is shinning in the sky.

她是青苔石旁一株紫罗兰

半隐着不为人见！

美丽如星，

孑然闪耀在中天。

When Lucy ceased to be;

But she is in her grave now, and oh,

The difference to me!

她生不为人所赏，

死亦少人感伤；

可她现已长眠地下，

天哪，我的世界变了模样
