中国对老挝大坝坍塌表示哀悼

The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday conveys its condolences on the dam collapse in Laos on July 23.

中国外交部周三对7月23日老挝大坝坍塌表示哀悼。

China deeply mourns all of the victims and sends sympathies to the bereaved families, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang in a regular news briefing.

外交部发言人耿爽在例行新闻发布会上说，中国对所有受害者深表哀悼，并向遇难者家属表示同情。

At least 3,000 people in Laos are still in need of rescue after a dam in a remote southeastern part of landlocked Laos burst, which flooded villages and killed at least 19. No Chinese nationals were injured in the accident.

老挝内陆偏远东南部的一座大坝发生爆炸，村庄被洪水淹没，造成至少19人死亡，目前老挝至少有3000人仍需救援。事故中没有中国人受伤。

The Chinese embassy in Laos has closely worked with Laotian officials, and China will offer support to the rescue and relief efforts for the Lao people, said Geng.

中国驻老挝大使馆与老挝官员密切合作，中方将支持老挝人民的救援和安抚工作。
