国际英语新闻:Dane observed for suspected Ebola infection after visit to West Africa
COPENHAGEN, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- A Danish patient who has recently been in west Africa was hospitalized on Tuesday for observation with suspected Ebola infection, local media reported.
The Dane who is in fever is being tested for Ebola virus at Hvidovre Hospital in Copenhagen on Tuesday evening, with test results expected on Wednesday, according to the Danish news agency Ritzaus.
"We determined that there were grounds to admit the patient and we have sent a test to the State Serum Institute," hospital spokesman Toben Mogensen said in a statement.
There were two suspected Ebola cases registered at the same hospital over the past five weeks. Both of them have been tested negative.
If the person is being infected, it will be the first confirmed case of Ebola in Denmark.
"Like the two previous cases of suspected Ebola at Hvidovre Hospital, which turned out to be negative, the preparedness this time also worked according to plan," Mogensen said in a statement.
