Ukrainian historian Volodymyr Urusov has praised the 19th CPC National Congress, saying that the event marks a milestone in China's contemporary history.

The scholar is now translating the book "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" into Ukrainian.

As he praises the General Secretary's report to the Party's 19th National Congress, he says Xi Jinping's thoughts on China's governance carry global significance.

"Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is important for the whole world, because it's an approach to build a peaceful world with order. It's also a way of building a steady and sound society for all people. The Thought is people-centered and benefits the whole world."

The National Congress concluded with the election of a new party leadership. Xi Jinping, also China's president, was once again elected as the General Secretary of the Party.

David Shayan, a member of the Political Bureau of Israel's ruling Likud party, expressed congratulations on Xi Jinping's re-election, saying that a people-oriented approach is an important reason of the CPC's success.

"I think the economy is a big thing. But still in the end you see the people in China – how much they are happy, how much their life is getting better and better. It's hard to say what is the biggest achievement, because I think there are a lot of achievements."

He further comments on China's anti-corruption progress in the past five years, saying that the adherence to strict party governance is essential for further success.

"I think it's very important, because then the people understand that the party and the party members, they really want to help and work for the people, not for their own benefits. So I think it makes the people trust the party and the government. And it's a very important thing in every country."

Meanwhile, some observers from the business community are also speaking highly of China's recent National Congress.

Jean-Louis Chaussade, Co-Chairman of the France-China Committee, says he is reassured by Xi Jinping's comment in the report that China's doors to the world will not close but only open wider.

"The economic and trade exchanges between France and China have a long history and will be closer in the future. I think many French companies will have more opportunities to grow in China."

In addition, Chaussade, also CEO of utility firm Suez Environment, is noting China's efforts in environmental protection, emission reduction, and pollution abatement in the past five years.
